Hereditary Coproporphyria
One interesting thing I found about Porphyria is, the disease is caused by a lack of enzymes, which are needed to complete the process of which creates heme. Porphyrins are created during several steps of this process, and the lack of enzymes causes abnormal amounts of Prophyrins to be made. The only question I have so far is, Is this disease curable?
Why did we choose our disease?
My partners and I chose our disease because the name was interesting. Also, the symptoms seemed pretty disgusting, so we thought that would be the most interesting one to do the project on.

About Me
I'm Colin Phillips. I'm sixteen years old and a sophomore. I play guitar, some piano, tenor saxophone, and ocarina. Obviously, I'm a music nerd. I like most types of music, but there are a few genres I can't really stand. I play guitar and do vocals in a band with five of my friends. I'm also a math geek. Last year, algebra was my favorite subject, and now geometry is. I play ultimate frisbee, I bowl, and I do marching band. In the future, I want to be a performer in a band, traveling the U.S. and the rest of the world.
